Meet Frik and Blohm, two adorable additions to our family who surprised us with their MuttMix results.
Blohm
Monday the 3rd of January 2022.
Our first puppy. Woodrock Animal Rescue phoned us to say that we were successful in our adoption application process for Blohm.
Blohm is just the softest and most gentle dog you’ll ever meet. She’s a quick learner and will gladly “Sit, Stay and Down” for a treat.
She’s always keen to cuddle and be close to you. Blohm’s favourite day of the week is when she and Frik get to go to Doggy Day Care for a full day of playing with their friends.
Blohm loves running, and even after a 5km trail run, she’s still eager to play more at home.

I was in Cape Town visiting my sister for the weekend when my husband sent me a message saying he was at Wollies Animal Project and what did I think about this puppy. We had previous discussions about adopting another dog – I just didn’t think I’d be in Cape Town at the time!
Needless to say, when I got home on Sunday, we had a new puppy named Frik.
Frik is a real mama’s boy and just brings a different energy to the house. In the beginning I always referred to him as the most grateful dog.

He’s also an early riser, and at 4:30 in the morning I’m woken by him staring into my eyes.
I then need to pick up the 28kg, eight-month-old dog, who sleeps with his head on the pillow between my husband and me.

I heard about MuttMix many years ago and decided to do the test purely out of curiosity and a desire to know how big Frik is going to get and what Blohm is.
I was honestly shocked by their results. I thought Frik would have some Labrador in him, and I genuinely thought Blohm would have German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois and perhaps Whippet or Italian Greyhound.
Regardless of their results, they’re still the best, bringing so much joy, love… and a few holes in the garden.
