Dear Abby

We’ve always had English Bull Terriers over the years, as well as other breeds. About ten years ago, we had a Bull Terrier and a Labrador and became aware of Adorabull Terrier Rescue and Rehabilitation when we sadly lost our Bully girl.

We visited Adorabull and encountered a lively lad, Dexter, whom we “virtually adopted” (i.e. sponsoring them while they wait for a home) and used to visit him with treats. We couldn’t bring him home because of the Labrador. Thankfully, he was adopted and went to his forever home.

Adorabull published a list of about 14 dogs up for adoption, actual or virtual. Veronica scrolled the list and said: “Abby!” We still had our Labrador, Maxiboy, so we virtually adopted Abby. We visited and treated her for the next 2-3 years.

Sadly, in 2021, Maxiboy passed on. For the first time in 50 years we were without a dog. What misery!

Veronica asked me if I’d like to adopt Abby and the game was on. We were going on leave, but asked Adorabull if they’d keep her for us – and they agreed. And three-and-a-half years ago she arrived!

What excitement. Shame, she was reluctant to enter the house at first, but soon found her way around. I built her a beautiful kennel that I decorated, but she refused to enter and never has since!

Abby is a very, very special little girl whom we love dearly. We’re inclined to spoil her terribly, though, but we believe she deserves it.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to adopt her!
