Harry was just a tiny, abandoned 10-year-old boy and partially blind when he was rescued. He was so severely matted that the fur had embedded into his little paw, nearly costing him the limb. Thanks to the swift action and dedication of our medical team, they managed to save it just in time.

Emotionally, Harry’s wounds ran deep. For weeks, he kept his distance, afraid to trust again. It seemed nearly impossible to crack his shell, but we didn’t give up. Our adoptions team patiently showered him with gentleness and consistency, chipping away at his worries one cuddle at a time.

At last, Harry’s walls crumbled and the sweetest little soul emerged. Today, he can’t get enough love and he’s sharing that love with a forever family that adores him to bits.

From rescue to recovery to a brand-new beginning, Harry’s story proves that persistence heals and every animal deserves a second chance.

Emma-Linda Straeuli, Harry’s new owner, shares...

Harry is officially the most joyful little chap in my pack. He’s full of life and quite a character. Harry loves his park walks and has adapted beautifully. He’s a very bright chappie! It’s hard to believe that he’d suffered so much neglect and pain. The team at AWS of SA truly ignited his spirit with their dedication to his recovery and well-being.
